The theme I chose
to do for this project was to do the fashion photo shoot in a nature location. My
original idea was to do it in a city or a street urban location but I decided
to change my idea to do it in the cemetery because it was a closer location and
easier for me and I think the photos turned out how I had planned.
To get
inspired and some ideas I did some research on location photography, studio,
still life and fashion photography. I also did some research on photographers
that have done work in both these fields. Some other research I did was on
different types of lenses like macro lens and wide angle lens; this helped me
to know and decide what type of lens is more appropriate and suitable for my
photo shoot. Looking at
different photographers and their work was interesting and helpful because they
had different techniques and styles of fashion and different ideas for location
fashion shoots.
One of the tasks on this project was to create some diptychs; I didn't know what this was before until this project. Diptychs are two photos put together side by side to show the contrast in colours and to compare the similarities of how well they go together. I liked doing the diptych work because they showed me how the colours can affect images. The background can contrast and look really well with the subject if I choose the right colours.
There were loads of different locations in this project and all my photo shoots. Each photo shoot was in a different location and they all went well and looked good for each different subject. I chose to do the still life one in an indoor location because the jewellery looked better with the lighting inside rather than the lighting outside. I did my final shoot in an outdoor location because the natural lighting and the location itself looked better and contrasted better with the colours.
The still
life jewellery shoot went well because I took a lot of photos for it and with
different backgrounds and lighting.
To evaluate
the project, I think it went well with the shoots, research and learning aspects
of it. The tasks were helpful and easy to complete because I understood and
enjoyed the topic of the project. If i had to do this again i would have put more into doing the research because i think that it helps me to see what other photographers techniques are,
