Still life task
This was the task where I produced 10 still life images from one of the genres I chose to research. The genre I chose for this task was fashion.
When I was doing this photo shoot, I was unsure of what genre I was going to explore for this final project so I decided to experiment with different genres of photography and for this task I did some fashion inspired images.
Even though I chose nature for my theme, I did do some still life images with nature.

second photoshoot - macro
This photo shoot is the macro photography of flowers and plants that I was planning to do as one of my ideas. I think it worked out okay even though there are some pictures that did come out a bit blurry or overexposed.
These photo's are from around Bradford because in my photo shoot planning and proposal I said I was going to explore that area.
I did some research on abstract photography for the genre research task and I think that inspired some of my pictures.
I took a picture of this flower because I thought it looked a bit strange an unique. I like the focus on this photo, it looks very sharp. I also like the composition on this too because it is very central.

colour film
For this project, we didn't get to go in the colour darkroom so I just scanned my colour negatives in onto the computer. Some of the images had quite a lot of dust and stuff on them so I edited them in Photoshop and to do that I used the clone tool to remove it then I used levels to brighten up the image a bit.
In my proposal, I talked about doing some photo shoots in Bradford/close to home and I decided to do it in colour film.

third photoshoot - still life
This photoshoot was an idea that I had which was to bring nature from outside, inside to take pictures in a still life style. I had originally planned to do these in the studio but I thought that the lighting would have been to bright so I just did it using natural light instead.
Quite a lot of the pictures didn't turn out right, some of them are overexposed and blurry, this is because I needed a tripod to do this. I mainly used natural light by placing it near the window but for some of them I did use light from inside and I decided that natural light looks best for this.
To get the backgrounds for these images, I put some paper down. For some of them I used white paper because I wanted the images to look clean and neat but then I decided to use black paper for the rest because I wanted the daisies to stand out better because they have white petals and with a black background they contrast better.

This is an example of why I needed a tripod, the picture is blurry because my hands weren't still enough to capture an image with such prescision. Also, sometimes the shutter speed would go slow because of how low the lighting was.
Although, I like how the picture is framed in the centre.
I like this photo because i used depth of feild. The angle of this photo looks nice as well because it gives the dasies dimention rather than just a flat above veiw.

Yorkshire dales - digital
These photo's are from the residential trip we went on with college. I think that it was a good place for me to take photos for my theme, nature and the areas I am going into detail with, landscapes and wildlife because Yorkshire dales has a variety of different natural scenes as there is a lot of fields and farms.
Whilst we were there, we did some night time photography. I have never really done night time photography before so this was something different. For this photo, the shutter speed was set quite fast so you can actually see the shape the moon was.
This photograph was set on a slower shutter speed to bring out brightness to the moon and to bring out the stars and clouds that a fast shutter speed wouldn't usually be able to pick up.
This is one of my favourite pictures from the trip. I like the way it's compositioned and the way all the things are framed in it. I also think that the colours in this image are nice and bright too.
I said in my proposal that I was going to do some wildlife/animal photography and it worked out on the trip as there were some farm animals to take photographs of.
The framing of this picture ifs quite good and the colours. Also I like that there is kind of an ariel perspective in the background.

primary research - "the sun has got it's hat on"
I thought that this task was a good task for my genre as I am doing nature because most natural things are outside such as trees, plants and flowers and need sunlight to live so there is a lot of options in the sun to capture.
I like this picture because the sun has hit the subject nicely and creates nice tones and shadows which makes the photo have good lighting. I also like the composition of this photo; the flowers are framed in the centre and there is nothing in the background that makes it look distracting/too cluttered.
I think this is a good photo because I used depth of feild and that makes the photo look more interesting and detailed. The lighting is good to because of the sun.

primary research - "who are you"
This task was to decide on what genre of photography that is my photographic specialism. For this task I chose to do still life because it is one of my favourite types of photography. In my other photoshoots for this project I have done some still life and close ups but for nature.
